The evaluation and treatment of lower extremity wounds is an important facet of our practice. We have over 2,000 diabetic patients in our practice, and national statistics show 8% of diabetic patients will experience a lower extremity ulceration in their lifetime. To facilitate the most comprehensive care possible for these patients, Dr. Kreger is a Staff Podiatric Surgeon at the Advanced Wound Care Center at Ukiah Valley Medical Center. Dr. Kreger is also certified in supervision of Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy for patients at the Center requiring this specialized treatment modality. It is effective in healing of difficult wounds in limb salvage situations.
These grafts include amniotic allografts such as: Osiris Grafix and MiMedx Epifix. Other advanced wound modalities include the use of the KCI Wound VAC, a negative pressure system that heals wounds more quickly and effectively.
